Roles, not Rules

The Wylders Game focuses on story, roleplay and world exploration over game system rules.

As a foundation for the game, we use the excellent Pathfinder 2e game system with Foundry Virtual Tabletop. This allows us to access their character sheets via tablets/laptops and to keep a copy of all maps and journal entries that everyone can see.

Game battlemaps are projected on a tabletop TV screen used as a playing board. This provides for easy-to-use, yet beautiful 2D map images for exploration and encounter movement.

A Brief Backstory

In 1899, a band of misfit outlaws botch a train robbery and soon find themselves trapped in a strange golden world called Aerra.

Labeled by the local inhabitants as “Wylders”, they struggle to complete an impossible quest. The Wylders have been pulled to Aerra and charged by Arwan, Lord of the Dead with finding and impossibly defeating a renegade warlock from their own world.

For 30 years, the corrupt warlock Yago has exploited the power of his voodoo daughters to draw the Civil War dead of Terra into the world of Aerra and resurrect them as an unstoppable army called “The Soldiering Dead”.

The Wylders wander the strange lands of Aerra, searching for allies and trying to gain the power they will need to take on the evil St. Yago and his voodoo daughters.

We Play in Costume

We like to play in costumes that reflect our western-origin characters. This helps get us into the role and adds fun to the gothic western theme of the game.

Table TV for Battlemaps

We use 2D VTT maps as a game board under our miniatures. We find this much easier and faster to add scenarios to the game and keep everyone visualizing the same scene.

Dice, Cups & Trays

Our game board and RPG character sheets may be electronic, but we still love the good old DICE. We use cups and trays to keep dice drops to a minimum.

Yes! We now have Merch!

Need a Battle Map for your game or want a cool Wylders poster for your wall? How about even a 3D-printed copy of one of the Wylders’ character’s weapons? We are working on them all and will have more news for you in a while.
